In the research colloquia, continuous interdisciplinary discussion links are established between doctoral students, applicants and external researchers as well as research students. Advanced Master's students who are aiming for a doctorate can already take part in these colloquia. In terms of content, the focus is on text and research discussion, supplemented by a project session (once per semester) with the entire group as a compact phase for the presentation and critical discussion of exposés and short presentations on ongoing research projects.

In the theory salons, current practice and subject theories are discussed and reflected on in relation to the research questions of the Research Training Group, and links between theory formation and empiricism are established on the basis of the various research projects of the Research Training Group members. These events are supplemented by empirical salons, in which different methodological approaches are tested on empirical material and the insights gained are reflected back into theory formation.
