Removal of the experimental islands on Spiekeroog

The experimental islands on Spiekeroog have been removed in September 2023 by an external company. The experimental set-up in the saltmarsh was removed by the research group DynaCom. The experimental islands were built within the back-barrier tidal flats south of Spiekeroog in 2014 during the project BEFmate (MWK-VW). At the same time, salt marsh enclosed plots were created within the natural salt marsh of Spiekeroog.
