The Iraq project team and the Institute of Special Needs Education and Rehabilitation at the C. v. O. University are making a further sustainable offer to improve and expand University teaching and internships in the "Disability Studies and Rehabilitation" degree programme at the University of Dohuk. University by offering and organising guest researcher stays for Iraqi/Kurdish academics in Oldenburg.

During these two to three-month study and research stays, the lecturers from Dohuk have the opportunity to participate in special needs educational and rehabilitation educational lectures and seminars as well as to visit and observe special needs educational and rehabilitation educational Institutions in the region and city of Oldenburg with the aim of gaining subject-specific knowledge and skills.

Furthermore, there is a mutual exchange of experiences between the academics from both nations and Universities. Getting to know the respective culture-specific ways of life and manners is also part of the programme portfolio. Participation in the social and cultural life of the host country is also supported.

Special emphasis is placed on the promotion of female academics.
