From the 20th to the 24th of April 2026, the 2nd edition of Set4MOST ("Modelling, Estimation, and Control using Set-Based Methods: Theory and Applications") was held successfully at the Department of Computer Science of the Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg.
In 2024, Set4MOST has become a novel event that aims at a comprehensive introduction to set-based methods, particularly interval-based approaches, spanning from theoretical foundations to their applications in various problem domains such as parameter identification, state estimation, and robust control.
Also in this year, the organizers Andreas Rauh and Marit Lahme (both Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg), Sara Ifqir (Centrale Lille, France) and Simon Rohou (ENSTA, Brest, France), have managed to invite internationally recognized speakers from France, Germany, and Spain to report on the latest developments in the frame of set-based methods to a broad audience of almost 20 PhD and Masters’ students as well as further researchers from France, Germany, and Poland.
Besides the afore-mentioned presentations and tutorial-style teaching activities, Set4MOST has provided an intensive discussion forum between the PhD students and the recognized researchers within three poster sessions, stimulating novel ideas for the design and verification of complex and uncertain systems.
The organizers would like to thank the Franco-German University as well as their respective institutions for providing the funding required for the organization of Set4MOST. We are looking forward to the next edition of Set4MOST which is planned to take place in France in 2028.
