"Me and the project"
I first completed a Bachelor's degree in Literature, Art and Media Studies in Constance and then a Master's degree in "Museum and Exhibition" at the University of Oldenburg. Since graduating at the end of 2011, I have been involved in the research project "New local museums as institutions of knowledge production" as a research assistant and doctoral candidate.
I joined the research project by working on the research proposal as a research assistant at the Institute of Material Culture. After it was approved, I successfully applied for one of the three positions as a research assistant and doctoral student within the project. I have held this position since the end of the project in September 2011.
In addition to gaining further qualifications through my doctorate, I particularly appreciate the diverse tasks within the project, the proximity to the practical work of our cooperating museums and the opportunity to take part in conferences and further education.
My research focus in the project is on museum spaces. I examine these primarily in terms of their development processes. This includes the investigation of spatial structures, physical cognition, knowledge production, participation and negotiation processes between the instances involved; always also in relation to local power constellations.
