The Advisory Board of School V - School of Medicine and Health Sciences met for the first time yesterday evening. All 16 members appointed by the Presidential Board were present to discuss its own rules of procedure and the examination and degree programme regulations for the new degree programme.
The Dean of the School, Prof Dr Eckhart Hahn, was satisfied with the outcome of the three-hour meeting: "We are getting closer to a University Medicine Oldenburg every day. The fact that all members without exception attended the meeting at such short notice shows the high level of responsibility that everyone is taking on for the project."
The key partners of the European Medical School are represented on the advisory board: the partner hospitals in Oldenburg - the Evangelical Hospital, the Pius Hospital and the Oldenburg Clinical Centre - and the universities of Oldenburg and Groningen. The Advisory Board's task under the Lower Saxony Higher Education Act (NHG) is to advise and prepare resolutions for the University Senate of the University of Oldenburg, which assumes the role of the Faculty Council during the start-up phase of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences.
