30 June - 1 July 2023 NEST Conference in Dresden

At the end of June, Marie Oltmer took part in the NEST conference in the beautiful city of Dresden, which took place for the eighth time this year. NEST is a conference for early career researchers in the field of transition research (and beyond). This year the conference took place under the title "Re-imagining Transitions - Beyond established methods and concepts". The two keynotes by Martin Savransky and Zora Kovacic focussed on this topic. Marie Oltmer presented a paper project on insect conservation policy in Germany and the role of actors - especially the so-called policy broker - in the policy process. In a hybrid format, both online participants and researchers on site were able to discuss the diverse work of the participants. Topics on 'Policy of transitions', 'Transitions in agriculture and food' or 'Actors and organisations in transitions' were just some of the diverse topics discussed. In addition to the participants' presentations, there was also the opportunity to exchange ideas during several workshops, poster sessions and coffee breaks.
