On 25 June, the Lüneburg and Weser-Ems Regional Development Offices, in collaboration with the 70 GW Offshore Wind Real-World Laboratory , organised a workshop with industry stakeholders in Cuxhaven. The event kicked off with an exclusive factory tour, during which participants gained fascinating insights into the manufacture of offshore wind turbines. In the workshop that followed, around 30 representatives from government, local authorities, industry, environmental organisations, citizens’ initiatives and academia discussed key societal challenges associated with the expansion of offshore wind energy. The focus was on regional development, securing a skilled workforce and public participation processes.
