PN junction as temperature sensor
A diode is brought to the temperature of sublimating carbon dioxide (or liquid nitrogen), ice water and boiling water at a constant current. The falling forward voltage is plotted against the temperature.
The temperature dependence shows a linear behaviour and is suitable, for example, as a measured value for an electronic sensor.
