In principle, students can choose their own topics from the field of political education/political didactics. However, they can also orientate themselves on the focal points of the Political Education/Political Didactics working group:
Political Theory and Political Education
Extracurricular Political Youth and Political Adult Education
Internationalisation of Political Education
Political and Cultural Education, esp. political music and civic education
Lifeworld orientation and civic education
Civic education and human rights education
Resistance and civic education
Historical civic education
Didactics of modernity
Education for sustainable development (ESD) and civic education
Please also note:
Theses are primarily assessed by students who have also studied with the supervisors.
In summer semester 2026, a maximum of 10 theses can be accepted in the Political Education/Political Didactics working group, which can be supervised as part of the colloquium.
The following requirements must be met for acceptance:
- Your planned submission date is in summer semester 2026 (BA/MA theses) or winter semester 2026/27 (MA theses)
- the willingness to participate regularly in the colloquium
- you must already have a confirmation of supervision from a first examiner and, if possible, a second examiner before the start of the course
- an exposé of approx. one page must also be submitted to the supervisors before the start of the course, in which you outline one or more possible ideas/questions for your thesis (including references)
