HPC Facilities

Current generation of clusters

The following systems are currently available at the University of Oldenburg for high-performance computing (HPC):

  • the ROSA Multi-Purpose Compute (MPC) cluster, funded by the German Research Foundation (DFG) and the Ministry of Science and Culture (MWK) of the State of Lower Saxony, comprising a total of 91 compute nodes
  • the STORM & MOUSE systems for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), funded by the Investment and Development Bank of Lower Saxony (NBank), the Ministry of Science and Culture (MWK) of the State of Lower Saxony and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK)

The systems are housed centrally in the University’s data centre and operated in collaboration with the IT services.
