10.09.2024 TASCAR-Workshop
Date: 10.09.2024, 9:00-16:30
Location: Carl von Ossietzky Universität Oldenburg, NeSSy building (W30)
Details
On September 10, 2024, we will be offering a TASCAR workshop at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg. The workshop will cover fundamental concepts, interactive binaural rendering, data logging and integration with Matlab, connection to game engines, calibration, integration with the Open Master Hearing Aid (openMHA), and room acoustics. Participants will gain hands-on experience in small groups.
The "Toolbox for Acoustic Scene Creation and Rendering" (TASCAR) is a tool for creating interactive dynamic acoustic scenes. It focuses on physically motivated, low-delay simulation of acoustics and serves as a laboratory tool for reproducible science. Early reflections can be simulated using a geometric image source model, while diffuse late reverberation is added via a feedback delay network (FDN) or convolution reverberation. TASCAR is completely open source and available for Linux, macOS, and Windows.
The workshop will run from 9 AM to 4:30 PM in Oldenburg. Participation is free of charge; however, catering is not provided (several canteens and cafeterias are available on campus). As the number of participants is limited, registration by email at workshop2024@tascar.org is required.
