Doctorate and habilitation in Bielefeld. 2000-2007 professorship for European social science research at the University of Bamberg, since 2007 professorship for social structure analysis at the University of Oldenburg. Since 2005 Jean Monnet Chair for European Studies in Social Sciences; since 2008 Director of the Jean Monnet Centre for Europeanisation and Transnational Regulations (CETRO).
Prof. Dr Heidenreich retired on 1 September 2025 - however, he remains an active member of the University in the Institute of Social Sciences.
