Sports eligibility for the winter semester 2026/27
The following rule applies regarding sporting aptitude for applications for places on degree programmes for the 2026/27 winter semester:
Proof of sporting aptitude must be provided in the form of the following:
A sports medical certificate in accordance with the recommendations of the German Society for Sports Medicine and Prevention (DGSP), issued no more than six months prior to enrolment in the Sports Science subject.
Procedure
Procedure for submitting the sports medical certificate
Book an appointment with your GP (including abroad, if necessary) for an examination to confirm that you are fully fit to participate in sport. You do not need to see a sports medicine specialist. To assist with the examination, your doctor may refer to the guidelines on preventive medical check-ups in sport (see Downloads).
Please use the ‘Sports Medical Certificate’ form provided under Downloads. The examination must not have taken place more than six months prior to the date of submission of the form. The form must confirm that you are fully fit to participate in sport.
The sports medical certificate must be submitted to the Admissions office together with your enrolment documents during the enrolment period for the winter semester.
Is any further evidence required?
No further supporting documents are required apart from the sports medical certificate.
