Staff Unit AGBS:
The staff unit of the Presidential Board reports directly to the President / Vice President. Its task is to support the management of the university as well as all superiors and those responsible for specialised areas in occupational health and safety, accident prevention and all matters relating to occupational safety. Safety Officers (SiBe):
Are persons appointed in writing by the university management who support managers, the occupational safety specialist, the company doctors and colleagues in order to prevent accidents, work-related illnesses and work-related health hazards. In accordance with the DGUV regulation "Principles of Prevention" and the Seventh German Social Security Code, the university must appoint a certain minimum number of safety officers (SiBe).

First aiders:
The management of the university must ensure that a sufficient number of first aiders are available for first aid services, that they are trained and receive further training every two years.

Fire protection assistants:
Fire protection assistants are several people within the university to take on certain defined fire-fighting tasks in the event of a fire.

Company doctors:
The task of company doctors is to promote and maintain people's health and ability to work and be employed, and in some cases to help restore them. In doing so, they take a holistic view of the working person.

Company doctors, like safety specialists, are appointed by the university management and
have the same rights. Company doctors are subject to medical confidentiality.

Occupational Safety Committee (ASA):
The Occupational Health and Safety Committee at the University consists of the Vice President, the safety engineers, representatives of the Staff Council, the company doctor, the Head of Technology, the Head of Human Resources, the Head of the BI and the Safety Officer. It coordinates and advises on all issues relating to occupational health and safety at the university. Planning, measures and steps can be determined in detail here.

The committee meets at least four times a year and is convened by the university management.
