NC - Numerus clausus
NC - Numerus clausus
- only applies to persons with a German university entrance qualification
The numerus clausus only applies to degree programmes with restricted admission, as only a limited number of places can be allocated in these subjects.
Contrary to a widespread misunderstanding, the numerus clausus (NC) is not a value determined BEFORE the allocation procedure. It is the result of the procedure for awarding degree programmes with restricted admission and can therefore only be communicated afterwards.
The values vary from year to year because the number of applications received is different and therefore the average grades and waiting periods are also different.

Dual-subject Bachelor’s degree in Special Educational Needs
- Line 1: In the main admissions process, the final applicant for admission was the one who could demonstrate a minimum average grade of 2.3 or a waiting period of at least four half-years (so-called ‘waiting semesters’).
- 2nd line: In the final supplementary admission round, all applicants were admitted.
As the number of waiting semesters (or, where the waiting period is the same, the average grade) determines admission in the event of several applicants having the same grade, it may not have been possible to admit all applicants with the same grade or the same number of half-years’ waiting period to the programme.
| degree programme | Grade/Waiting period |
| Special Education | 2.3/4 Not admitted – all |

Selection within the professional qualification quota is based exclusively on grade!
In the first line of the respective degree programme you will find the grade of the last applicant admitted in the main procedure. In the line below, you will find the grade that was required for admission to the degree programme in the last succession procedure:
| Degree programme | Grade |
| Special Education | 3.1 NV all |
