In times of a constantly growing global population and scarce resources it is of great importance for businesses to reconsider their contribution towards a sustainable development, not least to secure their own economic basis. Besides, the EU directive on disclosure of non-financial and diversity information by certain large undertakings and groups will result in further consideration of sustainability management aspects. The obligation to report about ecological and social aspects will affect about 6.000 large businesses in the EU.
Proceeding from these circumstances within the project “abat Business Case Nachhaltigkeit”, which is a cooperation among the chair of the department of Business Informatics/VLBA and the abat AG, a business model concerning software supported sustainability consulting will be developed. For developing the business model the following research focuses will be examined:
- analysis of sustainability consulting market
- analysis of competition
- preparation of a marketing and sales concept
- consideration of opportunities and threats
- preparation of a financial concept
Project team members are Jan Fischer, Nils Giesen, Teresa Haberberger, Christoph Simm und Tobias Wigbers.
The project was launched in April 2015, project term is one year.
