GROEN GAS
The project is funded by the Interreg IV A-Program through the European Fond for regional evelopment (EFRE) and the project partners themselves. The total grant volume sums up to 10,0 Mio. Euro. Partners include the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Agriculture and Innovation of Netherlands, the provinces Drenthe, Groningen, Friesland, Overijssel and Gelderland and the German provinces Lower Saxony and North Rhine Westfalia.
Objectives and tasks
In total 63 partners from industry, research institutes and government are working together in 18 subprojects to eliminate bottlenecks in the whole process chain of Biogas production. Topics focus on the processing of biogas to green gas, laws and regulation, infrastructure, innovative use of green gas for usage as fuel, industrial resource or even natural gas. The University of Oldenburg is mainly involved in the sustainability assessment of the technology and is developing a new software tool.
The Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg is involved in 4 subprojects with a total volume of 500.000 EUR. Dr. Thomas Klenke and Dr. Alexandra Pehlken from COAST are leading and coordinating 3 subprojects and are working closely together with the department Business Information Systems – Very Large Business Applications (Prof. Marx Gómez). The Institute for Environment and Development Economics (Prof. Dr. Eisennack) is involved in the 4th subproject.
