Application deadlines
Applications for the Lower Saxony Science Prize can be submitted to until 06. July 2025 will be accepted.

Please note: Applications for the Lower Saxony Science Prize in categories I and II are not processed via the Scholarships service centre, but via the Department for Research and Technology Transfer.

Procedure
The application and selection process is as follows:
- An application for category IV awards (for students) is only possible online via Stud.IP during the application period. You can find the form under Campus > Grants/Scholarships.
- After the application deadline, the applications received will be reviewed by the Scholarships service centre.
- The Presidential Board will make a selection of up to four suitable applications.
- Applicants will be informed whether they will be recommended to the Ministry of Science and Culture.
- On the basis of the submitted application documents, the university will write a statement of reasons for proposing the applications for the Lower Saxony Science Prize.
- The Ministry of Science and Culture announces its decision on the selection of the award winners. The Scholarships service centre forwards the decision to the selected applicants.
- In the case of an award, the award ceremony takes place at the end of the year.
