Transition – Quality of Care in Adolescents
Quality of care in adolescents with inflammatory bowel disease transitioning from pediatric to adult care
Description:
Children and adolescents with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) experience significant limitations in their physical and psychosocial development. Their care places high demands on integrative medical care.
For this reason, we conducted a survey of approximately 600 adolescents with IBD between the ages of 15 and 25 years old from the CEDATA-GPGE registry. The current care situation was recorded, as well as the experience of transitional care. Special emphasis was placed on the patient perspective. We had previously developed and validated a survey instrument to capture satisfaction with care.
The main results of the study have been published. We are currently still working on methodological challenges of patient-reported outcomes using the example of patient satisfaction from this study. In addition, analyses on determinants and usefulness of length growth as a target criterion in transition age are still planned.
