Biometrical Methods
Biometrical Methods
Our concept for the biometrical methods consists of three essential pillars: Application-oriented research, competent consulting and in-depth teaching.
Our research takes place in close cooperation with local university hospitals and statistical institutes. Our DFG-funded research projects include "Distributional Regression for Times to Event" and "Structured Additive Distributional Regression". Furthermore, we are conducting research in the project "Repeated Measurements and Imputation", with relevance for missing values in longitudinal data. An overview of our publications can be found here.
The transfer of our expertise in consulting and teaching is important to us. We advise the Medical Ethics Commission of the University of Oldenburg on a voluntary basis. Further consulting and training services for members of the University have unfortunately been discontinued at the instigation of the Dean's Office. However, we are still available for scientific cooperations.
Our teaching includes basic statistical and biometric training for students of human medicine and students of other faculties. This includes the course "Statistics and Programming" in the Master Engineering of Socio-technical Systems. With projects such as our data analysis project for students of human medicine, we stand for the transfer of well-founded knowledge and for innovation.
