Options for Ph.D. students

Are you a (potential) doctoral candidate and you would like to join our group? Excellent! We are happy to help! Check out below which option suits you best.

Why are you here?

1. Are you looking for a Ph.D. position in our group? Very nice! Before looking into the available options, please make sure that you have a Master's degree (or equivalent) in physics, chemistry, materials science, or related disciplines.

If you have achieved your Master's degree in Germany, we suggest you to look for a stipend. There are several portals that collect opportunities from private and public founders. For example, you can have a look here. In any case, we recommend you to contact Caterina for support.

If you have achieved your Master's degree abroad, you are probably eligible for a DAAD scholarship. Pay attention to the deadlines (usually 1 or 2 per year) and contact Caterina for support.

None of the above options suits you? Don't give up and contact Caterina.

2. Are you interested in a short-term visit to our group? That's great. First of all, contact Caterina to discuss about yout project.

DAAD offers also short-term grants for students studying abroad.

If you live in the European Union (but not in Germany!) or in one of the affiliated countries, you can apply for funding to HPC Europa 3. The grant will support your travel and living expenses and also provide you with the necessary computational resources to carry out your project.
