Groundbreaking research, innovative ideas and pioneering personalities from science, business, politics, media and civil society: since 2009, the Falling Walls Science Summit has been bringing together the world's brightest minds to break down barriers in science and innovation.
At the invitation of Prof Katharina Al-Shamery, Vice President for Academic Career Paths, Equal Opportunities and International Affairs, Professor Dmitry Momotenko, Dr Melanie Walther and Dr Lars Mohrhusen from the Institute of Chemistry took part.
For Lars Mohrhusen, the conference is "a unique multidisciplinary platform that allows a refreshing look at the potential of technical innovations in all relevant fields, taking into account the infrastructural, political and economic framework conditions, which can hardly be found in this excellence and interdisciplinarity at any other conference."
Dmitry Momotenko says: "I was lucky enough to be able to ask a few questions to some of the speakers. And as expected, the discussion in all sessions was at the highest level. I found it exciting to hear the scientific and political perspective on the future of innovation. It's not often in my everyday life that I get to see this point of view."
They will certainly be able to incorporate new ideas and perspectives inspired by and resulted by the Summit into their work and research. To find out more about the work of the three youg scientists and their working groups, click here:
