Bachelor of Sustainability Economics
Global warming, rising sea levels and greenhouse gas emissions, species extinction, excessive consumption of important natural resources, poverty and growing economic inequality worldwide - these are all urgent challenges that the Sustainability Economics degree programme deals with. This degree programme focuses on future issues relating to the economy, environment and energy. Topics such as economic growth, globalisation, unemployment and energy supply are discussed from an economic perspective. Students are enabled to use economic methods to analyse aspects of sustainability and develop options for action for players in business and politics. This gives them first-class qualifications for starting a career in large companies, ministries and international organisations or for an in-depth academic examination of these issues in further degree programmes. Bachelor of Environmental Sciences

They acquire a broad basic knowledge of mathematics, natural and environmental sciences, learn about marine and terrestrial ecosystems and can deepen their knowledge in the fields of modelling, analytics, oceanography, ecology, microbiology, landscape ecology and/or planning. The degree programme introduces current scientific aspects, provides information on current environmental problems and possible solutions and prepares students for professional activities. Area of specialisation
Students on all degree programmes can deal with sustainability issues as part of their Bachelor's degree. The sustainability professionalisation programme offers a special platform for this. The programme extends over one to three semesters with a scope of 6 to 18 CP, depending on the student's choice. A first module provides an overview of sustainability concepts and encourages discussion of the topic. In two further modules, which build on this, individual sustainability topics are then analysed in research and social practice.
