In order to better reflect and support existing and emerging research structures, -consortia and networks of researchers engaged in interdisciplinary research, these will be documented and presented in the form of ‘research clusters’. The cluster format replaces the previous format of research units. Existing research units are to be continued as research clusters. Initiatives for potential new research clusters (including those led by researchers in the early stages of their careers [WiQua]) are also expressly supported. The invitation to establish clusters with potential or to propose existing ones remains open on an ongoing basis.
