Practical experience during studies

The focus is on individual counselling and support in the implementation of extracurricular internships, which relates to preparation (specification of areas of interest, overview of regional internships, etc.) and follow-up (consequences for further study and career planning, acquisition of necessary qualifications, etc.). Setting up and maintaining an internship exchange facilitates access to internships and provides an overview of regional opportunities. Furthermore, the exchange between the practical field and regional employers provides students directly with information regarding internships or jobs.

Individual counselling can also be an opportunity to find out about job search strategies and the conditions and opportunities on the labour market in selected fields of practice in a personal discussion.

Programme of events

A special programme of events is organised each semester, which is specifically geared towards the acquisition of additional qualifications and "key skills" and also includes a wide range of other offers. The events take place outside the regular course programme and can also be attended by students. They cannot be recognised in the form of credit points, but participation in workshops is certified.

Many events are organised at the request of the students. In addition to rhetoric or moderation workshops, they also include introductions to business studies or presentations by practical organisations on their specific practical work. The annual practical forums promote the exchange between students and graduates who are already in professional life and ensure the establishment and consolidation of contacts with regional organisations and institutions. The events also help to provide information about current conditions and requirements of the labour market and to highlight traditional and "new" fields of work for (special/rehabilitation) educators and social scientists. In this way, concrete career prospects can be opened up and a connection to and exchange with practice can be realised.
