According to §45 NHG, the responsible Study Commission must be consulted before the Faculty Council makes decisions on all matters relating to teaching, study programmes and examinations. The Faculty Council must recognise its recommendations and document its opinion; it can transfer individual decisions to the Study Commission.
A Study Commission has been established at School V and has the following tasks:

The Study Commission of School V is responsible for all matters relating to teaching, studies and examinations of the degree programmes of the Institute of Chemistry, Institute of Mathematics, Institute of Physics, Institute of Chemistry and Biology of the Sea and the Institute of Biology and Environmental Sciences. Inter-faculty matters are discussed in the inter-faculty study commission.
