Dear students,
We are contacting you today to ask for your support in implementing an advertising campaign
for our Low German degree programme. As you may know, this programme only started this
winter semester and is therefore still brand new, small and unfortunately
simply unknown to many prospective students. We are very pleased that we have been able to introduce this degree programme and that
can now train teachers for teaching Low German in schools, among other things. As the
transmission of Low German in the family context is no longer guaranteed,
such institutionalisation is also needed in order to preserve this endangered regional language.
What do we want to do?
We would like to film a short promotional clip in the form of a Tiktok on 20 March in A14 in
lecture theatre 1/2. Filming starts at 1.30 pm. We will have the room until 8 pm at the latest. However, we can't yet say how long the
shoot will last. In any case, no longer than 8pm.
We need 50 students to sit one behind the other in three rows in the lecture theatre and hold up letters
. At the end you should be able to read "Niederdeutsch studieren" and "Plattdütsk studeren".
Either just the two phrases in an undulating movement or distributed across the
students rhythmically, quasi staccato. We will determine the choreography in advance and practise
with you on the day of the recording.
The clip will be accompanied by suitable music so that none of you can be heard.
The clip will be about 30 seconds long at the end.
It will be published on our homepage (of the degree programme and the Low German department).
And we would also like to share it on the social media channels of the University of Oldenburg.
The clip is not meant to be completely serious and should be taken with a wink, but - and this is really important to us at
- nobody should make a fool of themselves. That's why the clip is professionally accompanied, recorded, edited and accompanied by music by the
media production team. For the same reason,
precise planning is required. It would therefore be important for you to send a short message to
by 11 March to let us know whether you will be taking part!
Unfortunately, we cannot offer anyone any remuneration, as it is also a free
commitment to the cause on our part, but refreshments will be provided. Please help us and our new degree programme!
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us!
Best regards and many thanks for your support
