Welcome to the pages of Modern German Literature!

Modern German Literary Studies deals with German literature from the early modern period to the present day. In Oldenburg, it sees itself as a cultural studies discipline and is also interested in the media and social conditions of literary texts.

The work and research focus of Oldenburg literary studies includes, for example

• the relationship between literature and medicine as well as modern and postmodern literature;
• drama and theatre, literature in newspapers, magazines and popular media, as well as literary theory;
• children's and young adult literature since the Enlightenment, including children's media (picture books, film).
