There are various funding institutions and programmes that support virtual teaching and virtual exchange. The approach is very different: from individual support for digital mobility to the financing of guest lecturers and funding for the establishment of digital study programmes and summer schools:
- The Carl von Ossietzky Guest Lectureships enable the promotion of digital teaching in all disciplines at partner universities from non-European countries. The involvement of lecturers who do not belong to a partner university is possible where appropriate.
- Erasmus+ supports digital learning and exchange formats through the funding of "Blended Intensive Programmes" (BIP), enabling previously underrepresented and unrepresented target groups to gain experience abroad. Blended Intensive Programmes combine short physical group mobilities with a virtual phase.
- As part of the DAAD project Internationalising Teacher Education at the University of Oldenburg ("Dimensions of Diversity in Teacher Education") with the partner universities Groningen (Netherlands) and Nelson Mandela University (South Africa), digital formats for teaching and exchange can be promoted.
- Also via various funding lines of the DAAD (IMKD, IVAC, etc.) also provide financial support for international digital projects.
