Dr Volker Hohmann was awarded the title of associate professor (apl. Prof.) for his academic work on 5 April. The certificate was presented by the President of the University, Prof Dr Babette Simon, in a small circle. In addition to the Director of the Institute of Physics, Prof Dr Christoph Lienau, and the Vice Dean of School V, Prof Dr Georg Klump, the heads of the Medical Physics and Acoustics working groups, Prof Dr Dr Birger Kollmeier and Prof Dr Steven van de Par, were of course also among the well-wishers. Volker Hohmann expressed his gratitude for the award with the words: "I consider this to be a wonderful recognition of the work of recent years and I am very grateful that this would certainly not have been possible without the good cooperation in Medical Physics, with the neighbouring working groups and in The Haus des Hörens."
