Prof. Dr Annett Thiele has been Vice President at the University of Oldenburg since 1 January 2020. From 2020 to 2021, she was responsible for Young Academics and Gender Equality, and since 1 January 2022, she has been Vice President for Young Academics, Gender Equality and Diversity. In this role, the special education teacher aims, among other things, to anchor the topic of diversity in the university's structures - as an important cross-cutting task that expands the field of Gender equality. In promoting young talent, she is particularly focussed on career transitions - both within academia and into other areas, such as culture or business. In her research, she focuses on the participation of pupils with severe physical disabilities and the inclusion of children and young people with chronic or life-threatening illnesses. She also conducts research into the provision of assistive devices for adults with neurological disorders.
