Curriculum Vitae
Prof. Dr Annett Thiele has been Vice-President at the University of Oldenburg since 1 January 2020. From 2020 to 2021, she was responsible for the department of Early-Career Researchers and Gender Equality; since 1 January 2022, she has been Vice-President for Early-Career Researchers, Gender Equality and Diversity. In this role, the special needs education specialist aims, amongst other things, to embed the issue of diversity within the university’s structures – as a key cross-cutting priority that broadens the scope of Gender equality work. In her work to support early-career researchers, she focuses particularly on career transitions – both within academia and into other sectors, such as the cultural or business sectors. Her research focuses on the participation of pupils with the most severe physical disabilities and the inclusion of children and young people with chronic or life-threatening illnesses. She also conducts research into the provision of assistive technology for adults with neurological conditions.
