KinderUni: "Chemistry is when it tastes good" - advance ticket sales underway

Young students can find out how we taste and smell at the KinderUni lecture "Chemistry is when it tastes good" on 9 September. Prof Verena Pietzner from the Institute of Chemistry has prepared some exciting experiments.

Despite their differences, what do grapefruit juice and cola have in common? Oldenburg's KinderUni students will find out on Wednesday, 9 September in the lecture "Chemistry is when it tastes good" with Prof. Verena Pietzner from the Institute of Chemistry. The eight to twelve-year-olds can look forward to exciting experiments that illustrate how we taste and smell food. Of course, they can also taste the food themselves.

The lecture begins at 4.30 pm. Admission to the lecture theatre centre (A14) on the Haarentor campus is from 4.00 pm. Tickets (2.50 euros) for this and the last lecture of the autumn semester on 23 September are available via the KinderUni website (www.kinderuni-oldenburg.de) as well as at the offices of the Nordwest-Zeitung and all advance booking offices of Nordwest Ticket GmbH. Adults do not need an admission ticket - they are not allowed in the lecture theatre. They can follow the lectures on a screen in the foyer of the lecture theatre centre. The Malteser Hilfsdienst will provide security on site.
