KinderUniversität: How does inventing work? - From the idea to the product

There are no limits to imagination and ideas at the first KinderUni lecture of the spring semester: How does inventing work? This exciting question will be answered by social scientist Prof. Dr Jannika Mattes on Wednesday, 6 March at 4.30 pm in the Audimax of the lecture hall centre.

In the lecture, the eight to twelve-year-olds will learn how an idea becomes a new invention, what division of labour is - and why there are crash tests for new cars. Whether computers, aeroplanes, ballpoint pens or even chocolate with pieces of strawberry - all it takes is a good idea and something new can be created.

However, it is often a long way from a flash of inspiration to the finished product. The knowledge of various experts, years of research and quality tests are necessary before we can actually buy a new product.
In the lecture, the children also get to know a real inventor who teaches and researches at the University of Oldenburg.

Tickets are available for 2 euros from Nordwest Ticket GmbH on 0421/363636 and 01805/361136 (14 c/min.) and at the NWZ offices. Admission to the lecture theatre centre on Uhlhornsweg is from 4.00 pm. Accompanying adults can follow the event as usual on a screen in the foyer of the building. The Malteser Hilfsdienst will provide security on site.
