"My Song" - under this heading, art students are exhibiting their music-related works in the Lecture Hall Centre until 9 January. The artistic diversity reflects a musical spectrum ranging from Bach to flamenco to Madonna.
In addition to drawings, paintings and photographs, the "My Song" exhibition also includes objects and a film and is open to the public on weekdays until 20 December and from 6 to 9 January. The Auditorium Centre (Building A14, Uhlhornsweg 86) is open between 10.00 and 20.00 hours. The works were created by Oldenburg art students during the past summer semester under the aegis of lecturer Natascha Kaßner from the Institute of Art and Visual Culture.
The song "Kiss" by Prince, for example, prompted Rieka Bente to paint over photos and sew small kissing mouths. Jacqueline Menke explored flamenco and photographed a dancer, created a metal object and abstract drawings.
Lorraine Todzy, on the other hand, has created small figures to songs by Lena Meyer-Landrut that question the ideal of female beauty. Hilko Meischen, interpreting Madonna's "Nobody knows me", photographed himself dressed up in electronic waste and alienated the resulting images on the computer. A stone sculpture by Wiebke Ammen, on the other hand, is the cello piece "Suite No.1" by Johann Sebastian Bach, which has become a body.
The exhibition also features works by Lara Harnack, Luna Hilbers, Klaus Lück, Kalle Loger, Nils Reese, Lisa Sgange, Finn Ammerich, Sina Groothus and Markus Kratz. Admission is free.
