"Recognising potential - developing perspectives" is the title of a new study support module that the University of Oldenburg is offering in the summer semester in co-operation with LEB (Ländliche Erwachsenbildung in Niedersachsen e.V.). The pilot project aims to help students with vocational qualifications or foreign educational certificates to recognise their respective skills and use them in a targeted manner in their studies and academic appointments.
The series of events starts on Friday, 27 April, 10.00 to 18.00, at the LEB premises in Bad Zwischenahn (Bahnhofstraße 18) and will take place on three further dates until the end of June at the University of Oldenburg (Wechloy campus, room A05-159).
The aim of the project is to strengthen students in their personal and academic development. They learn the basics of the "Potential Assessment Centre Technique" and work in small groups on tasks that are geared towards the real requirements of student and professional life. A workshop at the end of the project serves to present and publish the results. In November, the project will also be evaluated and critically discussed with experts from vocational training and higher education.
The module was initiated by the IndiKo project group (study support module for the integration of individual skills assessment and training into university education). The module is funded by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture (MWK) as part of the "Open University Lower Saxony" pilot project.
