The University's Graduate Academy is opening up to young academics from the Jade University of Applied Sciences. This is regulated by a cooperation agreement that was signed today.
In future, young academics at Jade University will be able to take part in the interdisciplinary qualification programmes offered by the University of Oldenburg's Graduate Academy. University President Prof. Dr Babette Simon and Dr Elmar Schreiber, President of Jade University, signed a cooperation agreement today. "The outstanding training and support of young academics is one of our central tasks," emphasised University President Simon at the signing ceremony. "We are delighted to be able to support the young academics at Jade University by opening up the Graduate Academy."
"The Graduate Academy is an opportunity for our students to continue their career path in the region," said Jade University President Dr Elmar Schreiber. "We are delighted that the two universities are joining forces here and opening up the path to a doctorate for our students."
The university's Graduate Academy was launched at the end of last year. It brings together all offers for interdisciplinary counselling, further education and support for early career researchers from all subjects and qualification levels. These include, for example, courses on science communication, scientific writing or the development and processing of research projects. Doctoral students and other scientists can also receive further education in university didactics and learn how to lead project groups. The Graduate Academy also aims to promote career paths in business and administration - and thus outside of academia.
The new agreement further expands the co-operation between the university and the Jade University of Applied Sciences, which has been regulated by a framework agreement since 1 July 2010 and anchored in the law on the development of universities of applied sciences in Lower Saxony.
