Injustice must be punished! Right? - KinderUni lecture on the topic of law

Who decides what is wrong and how severe the punishment will be? And is it always fair? These are difficult questions that the legal scholar Prof. Dr. Dr. Volker Boehme-Neßler will get to the bottom of with eight to twelve-year-olds on Wednesday, 16 March at 4.30 pm.

"Punishment is a must! Does punishment have to be?" is the title of the third and final lecture in the KinderUni spring semester, when the lecture theatre of the lecture hall centre becomes a courtroom and the KinderUni students become judges who decide on punishments. After the lecture, all the little visitors will definitely know the most important rule in German law. What is it? The newly qualified young lawyers will tell you at the dinner table at the latest.

Admission to the lecture theatre centre (A14) on the Haarentor campus is from 4.00 pm. Tickets (2.50 euros) are available via the KinderUni website (www.kinderuni-oldenburg.de) as well as at the offices of the Nordwest-Zeitung and all advance booking offices of Nordwest Ticket GmbH. Adults do not need an admission ticket - they are not allowed in the lecture theatre. They can follow the lectures on a screen in the foyer of the lecture theatre centre. The Malteser Hilfsdienst will provide security on site.

The KinderUniversität project would not be possible without the commitment of the sponsors. The main sponsor this year is once again the Landessparkasse zu Oldenburg (LzO). The project also receives considerable support from the Oldenburg Employers' Association, the EWE Foundation and the business association "Der Kleine Kreis e.V.". The media partners Nordwest-Zeitung, NDR 1 Niedersachsen and Radio Bremen Vier also make a major contribution to the success of the KinderUniversität.
