Since 2009, the Oldenburgse neerlandistiek has been running an annual honours programme. Each programme runs over two semesters. It is awarded on a voluntary basis to particularly talented two-year Dutch students who have been selected to take part in the programme on the basis of their completed academic achievements in their first year of study. The students receive a certificate at the end of the programme, which they have regularly used.

The purpose of this programme is twofold: it is designed to stimulate and train critical scientific reflection in teleculture and spelling. In addition, the programme offers the opportunity for individual study planning via individual mentoring.

Het programma is one of the relatively few honours programs in Germany - and the only honours program in international neuroscience (cf. www. springer.com/education+%26+language/higher+education/book/978-3-319-12918-1).
