Project presentation OLE+
The project "Biography-oriented and cross-phase teacher training in Oldenburg" (OLE+), funded as part of the "Teacher training quality offensive" initiated by the federal and state governments, is a development project for the qualitative further development of teacher training at the University of Oldenburg. The central aim of OLE+ is to establish a teacher training programme that is biographically oriented and interlinked across phases. In the first funding phase of OLE+ (1 January 2016-30 June 2019), important results were achieved and a sustainable joint development framework was created. The measures of the second funding phase (01/07/2019-31/12/2023) build on this and are still assigned to four core processes:
Core process 1:
Optimise organisational structures
Continuation of organisational development in teacher training at the UOL and improvement of the organisational framework for the development and implementation of teacher training through the implementation of new digital communication and information structures
Core process 3:
Profiling the Research Academy
Profiling of the newly established research academy, in which Oldenburg research projects on teacher training are continued and an accompanying research programme in the context of OLE+ developments is set up and a contribution is made to the structured promotion of young researchers
Core process 2:
Promoting professionalisation
Further optimisation of the curricula in the teaching degree programmes, including through the continuation of subject-specific curriculum development, the implementation of advisory elements and the development and implementation of offers that promote the (further) development of professional skills of students and school teachers
Core process 4:
Improve theory-practice links
Focus on the curricular integration of elements of "reflective practice"; existing theory-practice spaces form the development cores and are the starting point for the expansion of corresponding teaching-learning formats in co-operation with non-university extracurricular learning venues
The development of digital media skills among students and teaching staff and the establishment of formats for research-based learning are thematic focal points across all projects.
The core processes address the need for optimisation at the University of Oldenburg as determined by a SWOT analysis and are designed as cross-sectional tasks in the implementation of which the Presidential Board, the teaching Schools I to V and the Didactic Centre (diz) of the University of Oldenburg are involved. Overall management of the OLE+ project lies with the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Teaching and International Affairs.
