With a few exceptions, funding matters under the Federal Training Assistance Act (BAföG) are handled by Studentenwerk Oldenburg, which fulfils its tasks on behalf of the University.

The tasks of the University as the Office for Educational Support essentially include the implementation of administrative offence proceedings (including the initiation of criminal proceedings) as well as certain decisions on deferrals in the case of repayment claims.

The University of Oldenburg's Office for Educational Support is responsible for students at the University of Oldenburg, the Emden/Leer University of Applied Sciences, the Wilhelmshaven/Oldenburg/Elsfleth University of Applied Sciences (Jade University) and the Private University of Applied Sciences for Business and Technology Vechta/Diepholz/Oldenburg in Oldenburg.
