Janina Ewert, M.A.
Short biography
Janina Ewert completed her dual-subject Bachelor’s degree at Bielefeld University between 2013 and 2017. She then went on to complete her Master’s degree in ‘Culture and Society’, specialising in sociology and philosophy, at Paderborn University between 2017 and 2021. Whilst engaging with the ethical implications of the care crisis at a theoretical level, she also worked part-time for several years as a care assistant for the elderly. In the field of sociology, she devised and implemented a new approach to synchronous online group discussions. These group discussions focused on the topic of “sustainable consumption”.
From July 2021 to December 2025, she pursued her PhD as part of the SMART-AGE collaborative project and was employed by Goethe University Frankfurt am Main. There, she researched the practice of “doing nothing” and the associated mental activities (daydreaming, reflective processes) in older age within the context of digitalisation.
Since February 2026, Janina Ewert has been employed as a research assistant at the University of Oldenburg and is working on the DiVerso project, where she is conducting research into diversity-sensitive healthcare in rural areas.
