Allocation of study quality funds in School VI

Study quality funds (SQM) are approved and allocated by the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture on a semester-by-semester basis. Of the allocated funds, 31% are used for university-wide tasks. 20% of the remainder is used for centralised study quality funds and 80% is distributed to the Schools.

School VI allocates the decentralised funds twice a year. In accordance with the decision of the Study Commission, the funds are allocated to the various degree programmes in the School according to student numbers.

All members of the School are informed approximately two months before the submission deadline that proposals can be submitted. The proposals received are collected, reviewed and allocated to the individual degree programmes by the Study Commission. In a special meeting of the Study Commission, applicants for the Human Medicine StEx and Molecular Biomedicine M.Sc. degree programmes have the opportunity to present their proposals and answer any questions from the Study Commission. All proposals are discussed and evaluated at the special meeting.

The recommendation on the use of the study quality funds is made at the following regular meeting of the Study Commission. A list of all proposals for which approval is recommended is forwarded to the following Faculty Council meeting for a decision.
