With continuously evolving digital transformation, new challenges occur in work life. To encounter these challenges effectively, it is wise and essential to build convenient systems for dealing with the information overload as well as establishing departments for innovation management and digital expertise, e.g. for new business processes and models, agile management and new work methods. Moreover, the transfer of digital expertise must be maintained, extended and implemented by means of proper structures and goal-oriented actions.

In research cooperation with the Oldenburgisch-Ostfriesischen Wasserverband (OOWV), the project WISdoM (Water Innovation Solution Management) will deal with the above listed subjects until the end of 2020 to find solutions for the water industry. As an innovative water supply association, the OOWV aims for utilizing all the chances that come with digitization and welcomes external ideas and influences to set new standards in its domain.

In faithful cooperation with the University of Oldenburg it is to find out, which arrangements and actions can be implemented for the water industry to reach higher levels of digitization. The systematization of data- and information management, a requirement and goal oriented development of digital expertise and the deployment of a department for innovation management were identified as major goals. The scientifically achieved outcomes of the project are meant for further development on the part of the OOWV.
