Procedural steps for personnel measures
Appointment procedure at the WiRe department
All recruitment procedures within the Department of Economics and Law take into account the regulations governing the Gender Equality Office’s right to be consulted on personnel matters. The recruitment procedure for appointing staff in the Technical and Administrative Services (MTV) is set out in the Recruitment Guidelines . A guideline specifically for the recruitment process for academic posts has not yet been adopted, so the Recruitment Guidelines also serve as a guide in this regard. The “Guidelines for Staff Recruitment and Selection” provides further information.
From the moment a vacancy is advertised, we support recruiters in ensuring the job advertisement is worded in a gender-sensitive manner. As departmental gender equality officers, we provide advisory support throughout the rest of the recruitment process, both in the formation of the appointment and selection committees (BK) and during the interviews. We therefore ask you to inform us of the dates in good time.
Formal participation in personnel matters by the departmental Gender Equality Officers and the Chief Gender Equality Officer takes place via the so-called Support Form for the Implementation of Measures to Promote Gender Equality, which must be completed at the end of each recruitment process by the hiring manager and sent, exclusively in electronic form, to the Departmental Gender Equality Officers together with any other necessary documents (e.g. minutes of the BK) ().
The accompanying forms are processed by the departmental gender equality officers and forwarded electronically to the central Gender Equality Office. To avoid time constraints prior to recruitment, the documents for the gender equality officers should be sent at the same time as those for the Human Resources Department.
A detailed overview of the internal processes for the publication of job vacancies and for the selection and recruitment of staff can be found on the University’s administration portal.
Waiver of the requirement to advertise
A waiver of the requirement to advertise a vacancy must be justified in accordance with Section 29 of the university charter and is only possible with the agreement of the equality officer. For this purpose, please refer to the updated ‘Joint Catalogue of Criteria drawn up by the Staff Representation and the Gender Equality Office regarding the waiver of the requirement to advertise a vacancy’ (as at 12 October 2023).
