Electrochemistry and Condensed Matter Interfaces
The research group studies (electro)chemical reactions of molecules at solid-liquid interfaces for applications in energy conversion, energy storage, biomaterials and analytical microsystems.
We search for new ways to design defined interfacial structures and take biological systems as a source of inspiration for the making of technical systems of analogous functions.
We use classical voltammetric methods, scanning probe techniques such as scanning force microscopy (AFM or SFM), scanning electrochemical microscopy (SECM), combinations of electrochemical and spectroscopic techniques (XPS and IR-spectroelectrochemistry) as well as laser spectroscopy and microscopy.
