Botanical Garden
The tour focuses on the Botanical Garden's major future project, the Climate Garden. This federally funded programme aims to make large gardens resilient to climate change. The Botanical Garden Oldenburg is being completely converted to sustainability.
In Oldenburg, this means geothermal energy instead of gas heating, photovoltaic systems, large cisterns, exemplary roof and façade greening and a new information centre with climate chambers for climate research at the university and for the public. This tour will show the first smaller examples and an interim status for the larger projects.
