According to the election regulations, all doctoral candidates accepted at the University of Oldenburg are eligible to run for office and vote. Further information can be found on the website of the election office and in the notice of the election announcement.
An election can only be held if at least 4 nominations have been received. Please encourage others to become active, and contact us at any time if you have any questions.
Currently no rep of PhD students!!!
Due to a lack of candidates for the 2025 election and the resignation of the previous members, the PhD Council must suspend its activities for the time being. If you are interested in reviving this important committee, please contact the committee office at any time. As long as no successors can be found, the doctoral students of the University of Oldenburg will not be represented in the Senate, the faculty councils or the doctoral committees and the networking with the Bundesverband Promovierende e.V., which is committed to strengthening the rights of doctoral students nationwide, will also be interrupted.
You can still find information about doctoral studies on this website; if you have any questions, please contact the InfoPortal Studium or the Graduate Academy.
No compulsory enrollment for doctoral students!
After extensive examination, the legal department of the University of Oldenburg has informed us that there is no obligation for doctoral candidates to enrol at any time during the doctoral phase; such a requirement (even if it should be in the doctoral regulations) is not in accordance with the NHG. You can find more information here.
Current workshops and events of the Graduate Academy
The Graduate Academy and its two graduate schools are once again offering exciting courses and workshops for enrolled doctoral students this semester. You can find out more here and on the Graduate Academy website.
