Alexander Mischenko is an IHK consultant and runs a start-up. At the same time, he is studying innovation management and entrepreneurship. He puts the knowledge he gains from his studies directly into practice.

What led you to C3L?
After completing my bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, I was determined to do a master’s degree. But first, I wanted to kick-start my career. For me, studying whilst working means that, as an IHK consultant for innovation and the environment, I advise companies. I’m also the managing director of LoveLights Emden.

What do you particularly like about it?
It’s certainly challenging to juggle my full-time job, running my own business, my personal life and my studies. But at C3L, studying can be organised so flexibly that I can easily balance it with my job and personal life. Instead of taking written exams, I demonstrate my knowledge through presentations and seminar papers. The content isn’t abstract, but tailored to current professional topics.

Where is your study taking you?
The fact that I’m now studying alongside my job brings tangible benefits: newly acquired knowledge can be applied straight away. For example, I can identify market potential more accurately than before and adapt business strategy accordingly. The practice-oriented course provides insights into the world of entrepreneurship that I wouldn’t otherwise have gained. After just one year at C3L, I’ve already built up a strong professional network.
