The ANALYSE! competition took place at the Institute on 26 January
Around 50 Year 12 pupils took part in the ‘Analyse!’ chemistry competition on 26 January 2025.
In this competition, the pupils were able to demonstrate their skills in the university laboratories: the focus on the day was on advanced practical work under time pressure, whilst still aiming to achieve highly precise results. The pupils were tasked with tackling an unknown problem as a team, i.e. planning the work to be carried out and completing it within the time limit, with every team member required to be actively involved.
Following this eventful morning, the winners of the competition were announced:
1st place: Eske Netzker, Helene Lewerenz, Timothy Ransby (Gymnasium Nordenhm)
2nd place: Moritz Meyer, Kristjan Klauke, Peer Schmitt (Altes Gymnasium Oldenburg)
3rd place: Pia Hupka, Mareke Meyer, Laaibah Saleem (Graf-Stauffenberg Gymnasium, Osnabrück) and
Mika Keno Ganslmayr, Hanna Goedeke, Insa Borchers (Gymnasium Ganderkesee)
Congratulations to all the winners!
The most important thing, however, is to focus on a passion for chemistry, experimentation and trying things out. This is also what Dr Ingeborg Buschmann, the competition’s organiser, exemplifies.
The competition is organised by the Institute of Chemistry and the Gesellschaft Deutscher Chemiker.
